“Running mixed with yoga keeps me balanced.”

Why I love to run: I was a high jumper in college so running and competitive athletics have always been a big part of my life.  However, these days I prefer to use exercise for stress relief.  In addition to running, I also love yoga and teach a few classes a week. The mix of running and yoga is just what I need to unwind.

Favorite place to run around Charlotte: My favorite place to run is Sugar Creek Trail. The trail is tree-covered and peaceful. I like doing an out and back and running different mileage depending on my mood. It’s nice to be able to run and not have to worry about dodging cars.

Favorite race: I like 5K distances. One of my favorite races to run with friends is the OrthoCarolina 10K Classic, it’s a beautiful course.

Favorite running tip: Prepare for a race by putting in the miles. Follow a training plan and cross-train. Yoga is a great way to avoid injury.
