Ask the Physical Therapist

John DeLucchi, PT, DPT, SCS, CSCS

Q: What do I need to do in physical therapy to play sports again after being sidelined by pain, injury or surgery?

A: OrthoCarolina wants you performing at your absolute best. Physical therapy will complete a thorough evaluation to be able to understand your pain, injury and / or surgery in order to identify what needs to be achieved to help you get back in the game. Your PT will work with you to be able to create goals and criteria that will equip you with the stabilization, mobility and performance you will need to play at your best. PT wants to make sure that you are well prepared and not thinking about pain, fear or any other limitations to get you back to high performance. OrthoCarolina PT understands that getting you back in the game is a team sport and we will collaborate with you, your provider(s), ATC(s), parent(s) / family member(s) and coach(es) in order to formulate the best plan for you to achieve success. We appreciate and look forward to working with you in the future so you can get back to the sport you love.
