Biography
Dr. Josef Jolissaint is a fellowship-trained orthopaedic surgeon specializing in primary and revision hip and knee arthroplasty, with particular expertise in anterior and revision anterior hip replacement, robotic-assisted joint reconstruction, and the management of prosthetic joint infections. His clinical passion is on improving outcomes for patients facing complex challenges—such as failed prior arthroplasties and infections—by leveraging cutting-edge technology and evidence-based care to help them return to active, fulfilling lives.
Dr. Jolissaint is a nationally recognized researcher, with numerous peer-reviewed publications and book chapters. His work has earned several honors, including the prestigious Ranawat Award and multiple podium presentations at leading orthopaedic conferences.
In addition to his clinical and academic roles, he is deeply committed to education, actively teaching both residents and fellows. His passion for global health has led him to participate in surgical missions to Tanzania and Honduras, where he provides trauma and joint reconstruction care while training local surgeons in resource-limited settings.
A former Division I rugby player and three-time national champion at Brigham Young University, Dr. Jolissaint brings the same discipline, resilience, and team spirit to his medical practice. Outside of work, he enjoys woodworking and spending time with his wife, Megan, and their three children.
