During the past four years, I have lived in depleting pain, which was not expected after my knee replacement surgery. I visited multiple doctors and described the pain; however, no one was able to diagnose the issue. It felt like I was being told to learn to live with the pain. I had stopped going to places and was unable to do normal household activities due to the pain as well as the buckling of my knee. When I met Dr. Alexander Boiwka, MD, with Ortho Carolina, Concord, I became hopeful. I realized that my quality of life may return due to the care of that staff.
Dr.Boiwka listened, asked questions, and researched the issue. I trusted him with my life to perform a second knee replacement surgery on that knee. The attention to detail that Dr.Boiwka shared with me and my family during the entire process was unbelievable. I could not ask for a better medical professional. My quality of life has already seen improvement and I am still in the recovery process.
I would recommend Dr.Boiwka to anyone and certainly return for my future needs.
"Service Above Self" comes to mind when I think of Dr. Alexander Boiwka. I am honored to share my pre-and post-surgical experience at OrthoCarolina in Concord, NC. My name is Melissa Smith, and I serve as the Director of Community Engagement and Dropout Prevention at Stanly County Schools (SCS) in Albemarle, NC. While working in the greater community, I eagerly express my total knee replacement experience with others. Many are amazed at how well the surgery and recovery went and ask me who my doctor is. I am confident his patient base is growing in Albemarle, NC, and abroad because I am not the only one who believes he is an impeccable professional. He has also done excellent work with hip replacements; his patients talk about him and praise him. I cannot express it enough. Dr. Boiwka is amazing.
After many interventions and options to care for my right knee and Dr. Boiwka’s review of my progress, I decided the timing was right for total knee replacement. I had surgery on December 15, 2022. What is usually described by society as one of the most complicated and horrific surgeries turned out to be one of the smoothest operations I have experienced. Why? The entire medical process was explained, so I knew what to expect and felt prepared. Most of all, I had complete confidence and trust in my doctor.
Dr. Boiwka is a knowledgeable, organized, energetic, and innovative medical professional who inspires me whenever I see him. When I woke up from surgery, he came to see me with a great big, heartfelt smile on his face. He was very pleased with my progress, shared the success of the surgery, and discussed the next steps with me and my husband. I felt like the most important patient in the world. Even my husband expressed his confidence in Dr. Boiwka. After surgery, I would pass by the nurse’s desk to go to therapy, and he would take time to acknowledge me and check my well-being. This makes me smile and feel like pushing on. Dr. Boiwka cares about his patients.
He is mature beyond his years, readily shares his expertise, and genuinely loves supporting others in their medical journey. Not only is he eager to share his ideas, but he listens to his patients. Dr. Boiwka likes to think outside the box and is a strategic problem-solver, especially when it comes to giving his patients a better quality of life.
Another impressive area Dr. Boiwka excels in is communication. Knowing that the digital world is growing at unprecedented rates, Dr. Boiwka does not mind using the most up-to-date, advanced technology to strengthen communication with his patients. The email platform in my patient portal became my best friend. I would simply send Dr. Boiwka a question regarding surgical procedures or recovery, and he would answer me in less than 24 hours, most of the time within the same day. Now, that is good feedback. Whether during a medical office visit, via phone, or by email, Dr. Boiwka always answers questions in relatable terms. No question is irrelevant, and he responds genuinely. What a strong communicator!
Overall, Dr. Boiwka has a wealth of experience, and recognizing and praising him as one of the leading medical specialists is time well spent. I am pleased to say that he will continue to grow tremendously and impact others as a Life Changer. My life has forever been improved and changed! Hats off to Dr. Alex Boiwka for ajob well done!
As for my most recent visit, I now have Dr. Boiwka which is much closer to home that I appreciate the service and his concern for my condition. I see that he familiarized himself on my history and situation before he came into the room. He thoroughly examined me and gave me current and future expectations.
