Dr. Mark McGinnis specializes in the treatment of hand and upper extremity disorders, including worker compensation injuries, carpal tunnel syndrome, fractures, microsurgery for hand, wrist and forearm trauma. Surgical and non-surgical treatments of Dupuytren's Contracture including the use of Xiaflex.
Dr. McGinnis received his undergraduate degree from West Virginia University and his medical degree from the West Virginia University School of Medicine. He completed his orthopaedic residency at Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York, and his had surgery fellowship at the Raymond Curtis National Center for Surgery of the Hand in Baltimore, Maryland. Dr. McGinnis is certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgeons and has a Certificate of Added Qualification in Surgery of the Hand.
Dr. McGinnis is a member of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand, the Carolina Medical Society, the North Carolina Orthopaedic Association, the North Carolina Society for Surgery of the Hand, and the Catawba County Medical Society. In the past, Dr. McGinnis has served on the Industrial Injuries and Prevention Committee and the Patient and Public Education Committee for the American Society for Surgery of the Hand. He has been a member of the Hickory Choral Society since 1993.
