Biography
Kelly Stafford, PA-C, is a seasoned Physician Assistant specializing in foot and ankle orthopedics. Since 2011, she has worked alongside Dr. Bruce Cohen at OrthoCarolina, managing a wide range of complex foot and ankle conditions in a high-volume outpatient setting. Her role combines clinical autonomy with collaborative care, allowing her to lead patient diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up with precision and empathy.
Kelly began her career in sports medicine and orthopedic surgery in Pittsburgh before transitioning to a subspecialty focus in foot and ankle in Houston. She holds a Master of Physician Assistant Studies from Drexel University and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Pittsburgh. Over the years, she’s earned a reputation for her strong patient rapport, procedural skill, and commitment to mentoring the next generation of orthopedic providers.
Outside the clinic, Kelly thrives on the energy of her CrossFit community, where she credits the sport with shaping her mindset, resilience, and strength. She’s also a proud mom of three and spends most weekends cheering them on from the sidelines. Known for turning even a humble hot dog into a culinary masterpiece, Kelly is a passionate home cook—but admits that keeping houseplants alive remains a work in progress.

I saw Kelly Stafford at OrthoCarolina this week. She was very personable and professional and explained my injury so I could understand it. I really liked her and would gladly go back to her and recommend her to others!
