Biography
Andy brings over 15 years of orthopedic experience to his role as a Physician Assistant and APP Director at OrthoCarolina. Originally from England, Andy moved to the U.S. to study Athletic Training in Florida and went on to play competitive soccer both nationally and internationally. Following his athletic career, he pursued his passion for medicine by earning his MSPAS from the Medical University of South Carolina. Andy began his PA career in sports medicine before expanding into general orthopedics, where he developed a broad foundation across musculoskeletal conditions. He now balances his clinical work in orthopedic urgent care with system-wide administrative leadership—overseeing more than 100 Advanced Practice Providers. As part of the PA Fellowship faculty, he is especially passionate about supporting the clinical growth and operational readiness of early-career PAs.
Outside of work, Andy remains active in the sports community and can often be found cheering on his kids from the sidelines of a soccer field.

I've been going to OrthoCarolina since 2008 when i had a serious back problem and they corrected it. Occasionally since then I have gone back for cortisone injections for other ailments and everyone I've dealt with has been professional and truly caring. I especially want to point out Andy Hylton who has helped me numerous times and always done so with compassion, honesty and the highest medical standards.
