Shining a Spotlight on Excellence: 2025 CMS All-Star Gala Recap

This past Friday, OrthoCarolina had the incredible honor of presenting the 2025 CMS All-Star Gala, in Camp North End.

As the proud title sponsor, we were thrilled to support this student-led event that celebrates the achievements of Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools' most exceptional high school athletes. Representing sports from the spring, fall, and winter seasons, each honoree was voted on by CMS staff and students based on their athletics, academics, and community involvement. The Student Athletics Advisory Council (SAAC), which is run by CMS student athletes, planned, organized, and executed the entire event. From speeches to video production and center pieces, their talent was on full display in this remarkable event. 

Leading up to the event, our excitement grew even more after watching the “Positively Charlotte” segment on Queen City News, which offered a preview of what the gala represents.

The gala itself was a dazzling evening of glitz, glam, and genuine celebration. Athletes were recognized not only for their athletic achievements but also for their academic excellence, sportsmanship, and community service. Each conference selected one standout student-athlete, with final winners determined by votes from CMS students and staff.

Tamara Satterfield, CMS Graduation Specialist – Athletics and SAAC Leader, shared:

It’s clear they believe in celebrating the whole athlete—on the field, in the classroom, and in the community—and that alignment means everything to us.”
