Biography

Dr. Thomas Spangler earned his undergraduate degree from Davidson College in North Carolina, graduating Magna Cum Laude with high honors in Mathematics. He received his medical degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and completed his orthopaedic surgical residency at Duke University Medical Center in Durham.

Board Certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and licensed to practice in North Carolina, Dr. Spangler serves on staff at Forsyth Medical Center and Medical Park Hospital. He specializes in a broad range of orthopaedic procedures, including joint replacement and surgeries of the shoulder, elbow, wrist, hip, knee, and ankle, as well as the treatment of leg and back pain.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Spangler is married to his wife, Laura, a Presbyterian pastor. They have four children and live locally. In his free time, he enjoys swimming, pottery, and glasswork.
