Education as a competitive weapon

With that all too familiar knot of trepidation, I gowned up and walked into the cadaver lab to do the deep dive into anterior hip surgery. Luckily, no one offered me a scalpel. For 25 years I’ve been a medical technology analyst and for the first time I was walking into a revered, even sacred space for hands-on surgical training to learn, along with a dozen experienced large joint surgeons, surgery.
Specifically, direct anterior hip replacement surgery.
