OrthoCarolina's Hip & Knee Center is internationally recognized for expertise in the fields of adult hip and knee care. Our sub-specialized physicians have served as collaborative pioneers in the development of today’s modern hip and knee replacement surgeries, and have extensive experience with simple and complex surgery of the joints.

Each year in the United States, more than 400,000 total hip and knee replacement procedures are performed. Continuously evolving techniques and innovations make these replacement surgeries uniquely beneficial to patients who suffer from arthritis and other painful hip and knee conditions. These procedures can alleviate problems caused by osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, fractures, congenital conformity and other diseases which restrict an adult patient’s active lifestyle.

Scientific studies have clearly demonstrated that surgeons like those at OrthoCarolina who specialize in hip and knee replacement surgery and perform large numbers of these procedures have superior outcomes for their patients. The sub-specialized physicians at the OrthoCarolina Hip & Knee Center restrict their practice to the management of adult hip and knee problems and collectively perform nearly 2,500 joint replacement procedures annually.

Our physicians are very active in medical research and teaching, frequently lecturing to and hosting other surgeons from around the country. This shared information helps all patients, as we utilize the most recent scientific breakthroughs in joint replacement surgery and revision surgery. Our surgeons alleviate the symptoms of arthritis in the hip or knee with the most advanced techniques available.

To achieve optimal patient outcomes, a team approach is essential. The surgeons of OrthoCarolina's Hip & Knee Center work together in pre-operative planning and post-operative evaluation in conference to assure the highest quality of care. We help patients and families navigate the troubled waters of restricted activity caused by arthritis, ultimately improving mobility - thanks to a successful intervention.

Our specialized areas of training and expertise include:
  1. Total Hip Replacement
  2. Total Knee Replacement
  3. Osteoarthritis
  4. Rheumatoid Arthritis
  5. Revision Joint Surgery
  6. Advanced Techniques
