Dr. Stephen Fleming grew up in eastern North Carolina. He graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and then attended Wake Forest University School of Medicine. He completed his orthopaedic surgery residency at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, SC. He then pursued an additional year of hand/microvascular surgical training in Louisville, KY. He has been in private practice in Boone, NC since 1986.
Specializes in hand and upper extremity surgical procedures including treatment of fractures, hand trauma, tendon injuries, carpal tunnel, arthritis and joint replacements, Dupuytren’s disease, nerve injuries , elbow and wrist injuries
