Dr. Osier realized her desire to become an orthopedic physician while working as a physical therapist. When a promotion to a supervisor position left her with less patient interaction, she knew her next step was to earn her medical degree in order to return to close patient care. Dr. Osier receives a great deal of gratification from helping patients return to their normal daily activities.
She received her Bachelor of Science in physical therapy from the University of Connecticut and her medical degree from the University of Massachusetts Medical School. She completed her internship in general surgery and her residency in orthopedic surgery at the University of Massachusetts. Upon completion of her residency, she was awarded a distinguished fellowship in hand and microvascular surgery at Duke University Medical Center. Hand and microvascular surgery continue to be her specialties.
Dr. Osier enjoys spending time with her husband, Larry, and her two sons. She is also an outdoor enthusiast who enjoys gardening, golf and boating.
