Dr. Griffin earned his Bachelor of Arts in chemistry from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He completed his medical degree and internship at the University of Louisville School of Medicine and his residency at Carolinas Medical Center. Dr. Griffin also completed a fellowship in reconstructive total joint arthroplasty at the National Hospital of Orthopaedics and Rehabilitation in Washington, D.C.
Dr. Griffin is actively involved in teaching and research. He has authored numerous publications and delivers lectures to other orthopedic surgeons, both nationally and internationally. As president of the OrthoCarolina Research Institute his research activity has been focused on the design and testing of hip and knee replacement components.
Dr. Griffin believes orthopedics is a particularly gratifying specialty as his patients experience an improvement in their quality of life.
In his spare time, Dr. Griffin enjoys spending time with his wife, Elaine, and his two girls. He also likes an occasional round of golf.
